I've been conducting workshops in conjunction with my interactive art exhibition and social engagement project Parallel Lines at Museum of Northern History in Kirkland Lake.
One of my workshops was conducted at Kirkland Lake District Composite School.
We have a whole range of students of different ages and cultures, male, female, LGBTQ, Indigenous and non-Indigenous.
They may or may not know each other. They certainly don't know me.
The workshop begins with the opening of a suitcase. No one knows what to expect
I feel that healing and reconciliation can only begin when we can listen and hear each other, when we can understand that others may see things from a different perspective. Parallel Lines achieves this.
I'm interested in hearing your perspectives too.
Drop a line, post a comment or otherwise stay in touch.
Thanks for reading. Meegwetch. Gracias. Merci. Arrigato.
